How I work:
Two examples of my workflow, a company rebrand and a group animation
I. A Company Rebrand:
II. A Group Animation:
Abbott Portico™ with FlexNav™ Tavi System
The Portico™ system is used for transcatheter aortic valve implantation. This animation utilizes particle systems such as TyFlow to emphasize the features of the product.
Project Overview
-
Pre-production Lead: Olivia Dodds
Production Lead: Brenna Tremp
Post-production Lead: Ben Halverson
-
As production lead, my main goal was to take the storyboard we designed and create a plan to bring our vision into the 3D realm. This was executed through delegation of roles to my team members, filling gaps in production, and helping team members problem solve.
-
What I learned from this project was how to collaborate with a team from start to finish. This included being mindful of naming conventions as well as creating a timeline for production in order to meet our goals. By staying organized and open to communication, we were able to bring our vision to life.
Phase 1: Storyboard
With my team member as pre-production lead, we began the project by researching our topic, finding accurate models and information on the device. This information was then used to create our vision in a storyboard as seen below.
Phase 2: Animatic
As production lead, I began bringing the storyboard to life, using primitive models to map out camera movements, lighting, and animation as my team members started developing the models and the overall style for the animation. At this point, we also had begun animation testing.
Phase 3: Final Animation
After implementing changes suggested by peers, we met as a group to walk through what we wanted for this animation. We determined goals that were reasonable with the timeline and brainstormed solutions to any problems.
